Plansoen Scholars at Lake Forest College 2022 Commencement

This past spring at the Lake Forest College Commencement, eight of the church’s Plansoen Scholars graduated and received their degrees, and five of the eight students graduated with honors.

    1. Angela Addante received two degrees, Master of Arts and Teaching, and Bachelor of Arts in History.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude.  This fall, Angela will be teaching 6th grade social studies and will also be a Special Education Co-Teacher at the Lincoln Middle School in Berwyn, IL. Angela was a Plansoen Family Scholar, Class of 2020 – 21.
    2. Carlson Ayanlaja received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics and Economics.    He is currently looking for an entry-level financial analyst/ consulting position in the financial industry.   Carlson was a Plansoen Family Scholar, Class of 2020 – 2021.  (Any networking contacts from church members would be greatly appreciated!     3. Carolynn Boatfield received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Neuroscience. At the time of graduation she received two Neuroscience Awards:  The Nu Rho Psi, National Honor Society Award for Outstanding Leadership & Service, and the Excellence Achievement Award from the Health Professions Program. Two weeks after graduation Carolynn began a PA (Physician Assistant) Degree Program at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago.  Carolynn was a Plansoen Family Scholar, Class of 2021 – 22.
    4. Tebatso Duba received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Psychology.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  She was pre-law and is currently working as a Paralegal at Zabel Law, a downtown Chicago law firm. Tebatso was a Plansoen Family Scholar, Class of 2020 – 2021.
    5. Enrique “Enjo” Salonga received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with honors in Economics and Environmental Studies.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude, his Senior Thesis earned distinction, and he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Enjo is an incoming Economics PhD Student at the University of Wyoming. Enjo was a Plansoen Family Scholar, Class of 2021 – 2022.
    6. Jamari Tansmore received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Data Science, with a Statistics Concentration. He graduated Cum Laude.  Jamari is continuing his education this fall at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC.  He is enrolled in their MBA program with a concentration in Data Analytics.  Jamari is also joining the football program as a Graduate Assistant Coach.  Jamari was a Plansoen Family Scholar, Class of 2020 – 2021.
    7. Joshua Witherspoon received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art: Studio Art.  This summer Joshua is continuing his job search as he pursues his dream of becoming a fashion designer for a major brand label.  Joshua was a Plansoen Family Scholar, Class of 2021 – 2022.
    8. Nicole Choma Zawadzka received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business: with a Marketing Concentration; and in Communication. She graduated Cum Laude.  This past semester Nicole completed an internship with Edition by Modern Luxury.  Upon graduation, Nicole was offered and accepted a full-time position as a Digital Systems Coordinator at Edition by Modern Luxury.  Nicole was a Plansoen Family Scholar, Class of 2021 – 2022.

Don Dempsey, Director of the First Pres Plansoen Scholars, had the joy of attending the ceremony and greeting the scholars as they walked in and met with some of them afterwards. Don says, “A special group of students indeed and my joy to have gotten to know them over these past two years.”
