Summer Book Club

Summer Book Club: Church of the Wild
6:45 PM – August 10, 17, 24 and 31, and September 7
South Parlor

The divine communicates to us primarily through the language of the natural world. Not to hear the natural world is not to hear the divine.”

These words of theologian Thomas Berry launch us into the Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred by Pastor Victoria Loorz. Noting that Jesus went into the mountains to pray, this book invites us to do the same.

One reviewer says “Church of the Wild is about a very different church; there we encounter a wilderness that might be closer to us than our church buildings.” What a welcome way to reboot our hearts and minds at the end of this summer in particular!

Another reviewer states “This book will be of great use to all who feel a little broken by the world right now, anyone yearning to reconnect with something larger.”

Intrigued? Come join us in reading and discussing this short book after Wednesday dinner at Church.

Books are available in the office or can be found on Amazon. We meet in the South Parlor at 6:45 PM.
