First Session of Done in 60 Minutes: The Bible

First Session of Done in 60 Minutes: The Bible

Updated Monday, September 17: See the video of presentation below!

Sunday, September 16, from 10:10 to 11:10 AM and from 12:10 to 1:10 PM

Do you wish you understood the grand sweep of the Bible, rather than just knowing some specific scriptures? Has the Summer Book Club whetted your appetite for understanding the Old Testament too? Is it hard to commit to long-term church faith formation activities because of your schedule?

If so, the upcoming Done in 60 Minutes: The Bible is for you!

The first in a series of four presentations between September 2018 and March 2019 — this opportunity will give an overview of the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, so that you can figure out whether Moses came before or after Abraham and Jesus. What’s the exile? What’s the difference between kings and prophets? How is the Bible organized? These are just some of the questions that will be answered.

Pastor Chip Hardwick will give two identical presentations in the chapel on Sunday, September 16, from 10:10 to 11:10 AM and from 12:10 to 1:10 PM. The latter includes a light lunch.

For those who want to dig deeper than 60 minutes allows, Pastor Chip will host an Exploration Group that will meet on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM from September 19 through October 24. It will use The True Story of the Whole World by Craig B. Bartholomew and Michael W. Goheen as a resource.

There is no need to register for the Sunday presentation or the Exploration Group. Contact Pastor Chip at chardwick@firstchurchlf.org or 224.544.1963 for more information.

The next Done in 60 Minutes sessions are as follows:
November 4: Church History, January 27: How the Bible Became the Bible, March 3: Christian Theology
