Worship is an integral part of the life of faith. Because of this, every week confirmation meets, the confirmands sit together in worship in the front left pews in the sanctuary until leaving for class after the Word for Children. On several Sundays throughout the year confirmands will also worship together for the entire service.
Our faith is not simply something we think about and believe—it’s something that God calls us to live out. Service trips and mission education events are part of the confirmation year.
Each confirmand will be assigned a small group for the year led by small group leaders from the congregation. We will spend time in each class session in these small groups. You likely won’t be in a group with your best friend, so be open to getting to know others and building new friendships!
Each confirmand will choose a spiritual practice to engage in throughout the confirmation year.
The cost for the confirmation program is $300. This fee helps cover transportation, supplies, lodging, meals, snacks, and program costs for the retreat, all service trips and field trips, and weekly class. Scholarships are available – contact Pastor Kristie for info (the fee should not be a barrier to participation).
Confirmation is an six-month commitment to explore and grow individually and alongside others in your class. Because much of what we do happens in the community of the classes and small groups, confirmands are expected to attend every class and event. Make-up assignments are available when occasional conflicts arise.
