First Presbyterian Appoints Sean Kelly as College Ministry Director and Assistant Director of Youth

For Immediate Release

Lake Forest, Ill. – Sept. 9, 2015 – After months of discernment, First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest is pleased to announce that Sean Kelly has accepted the role of director of College Ministry and assistant director of Youth Faith Formation.

“I am blessed and excited to embark on this new ministry experience,” Kelly said. “My greatest joy is conversing with others as they explore their faith and understanding of Jesus Christ.”

In this newly revamped role, Kelly will provide authentic and accessible Christ-centered mentorship of, and outreach to, students at Lake Forest College and lead the College Ministry Team in its initiatives, programs, and vision. He will also offer to our church’s college students pastoral leadership alongside Rev. Nick Redmond, associate pastor for Youth and Young Adult Faith Formation. As assistant director for Youth Faith Formation, Kelly will assist in both the 5-8th grade and senior high programs with a focus on the 5-8th grade Sunday School and Youth Group.

“First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest is committed to providing spiritual nourishment to
children, youth and young adults as this is an especially important point in their lives where we can make a difference,” Rev. Redmond said. “We have wonderful momentum at Lake Forest College that we can build on and our own youth ministry has grown. Having Sean here will enable us to continue on this positive direction.”

Kelly is a graduate of Biblical Theological Seminary, in Philadelphia, with a Master of Divinity. He has been involved with Youth Ministry for the past nine years and have held positions within church, parachurch and secular organizations.
