Mission Partner Bravo Waukegan just finished its 9th season of Bravo Buddies Music Camp, a program available to Waukegan public school students (2nd – 8th graders). The camp took place June 17 through July 12 at Jefferson Middle School in Waukegan. Executive Director and First Pres member Karey Walker said, “We were thrilled to offer camp to a record number of students this year.” 112 students attended — some of whom have never played an instrument before. The program enabled students to receive two individual music lessons from 17 exceptional music teachers every week, and each week ended with “Fun Fridays,” where students joined together for sectional and orchestral practice, and for special performances from musical guests. The First Pres Mission Committee awarded Bravo Waukegan another grant this year.
