Maundy Thursday Labyrinth + Prayer Stations

Maundy Thursday is usually a high touch service. We break the bread, pass the cup, wash feet. This year we still want to share in this holy day together. In doing so we are going to use some ordinary everyday things and locations.  We will walk the labyrinth in Fellowship Hall, wash our hands in the Kitchen sink. Use a tablecloth to remember the meal, think about betrayal through writing, and pray in the Memorial Garden as Jesus prayed in the Garden at Gethsemane. Maybe using these everyday materials and things will allow us to keep Maundy Thursday – the day Jesus ate with and expressed his love for the disciples – close throughout the year.

Sign up below for a 20-minute time slot on Maundy Thursday, April 1. Families please sign up together.

So everyone feels comfortable and welcome to visit our Maundy Thursday experience, please enter through the Sheridan Road entrance and follow the signs to Fellowship Hall to begin your visit in the labyrinth. There will be signs to direct you to the next station, and you will exit on the Deerpath side of the building to conclude the experience in the Memorial Garden.

The Labyrinth will also be open from Thursday, March 25 until Wednesday, March 31, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, in Fellowship Hall if you’d like to visit on a different day. No registration required if you are visiting between March 25-31.

If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Tometz at dtometz@firstchurchlf.org.
