Looking for an opportunity to serve in worship? Liturgists, ushers, acolytes and greeters are essential to our worship together. Whether you have gifts for hospitality, leadership, drama, youth leadership or community building, there is a place for you to learn and grow. Contact Tom Tropp at email@example.com for more information.
We join in fellowship every Sunday after services. During the program year, Fellowship Hour is at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. During the Summer, Fellowship is held at 11 a.m.
We welcome people of all ages and walks of life to worship, learn, connect, serve and invite others to the family of faith. Learn more about the Faith Formation ministry that is right for you.
We invite you to join small groups that meet throughout the year at various times and locations. In small groups we learn, grow and serve together. While groups often follow the Sunday preaching series, they also study other topics. Sign up online or contact Debbie Tometz at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Your stewardship sustains the legacy of our church. Everything we do is made possible by your generosity. Giving at First Pres is possible in a variety of ways. We accept checks, cash, credit cards, stock or bonds. You can make a contribution towards:
- Annual Operating Fund (weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual pledges and gifts);
- Endowment Fund: donations to unrestricted or restricted funds;
- Memorial Gifts;
- Special Offerings: Peace, One Great Hour of Sharing, Christmas Joy, Disaster Relief and others.
To learn more or to give a gift, visit our Give page.
Donations and volunteers to help sort and run the spring and fall Rummage Sales are always welcome. Donations should be clean; free of odors, stains, tears, holes; and, if applicable, in working condition. Breakable goods should be stored in sturdy boxes and clothing in large, sturdy plastic bags. Donation items can be dropped off at the church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
Care for Others
Our deacons serve on various ministries that aim to assist those in need, the sick, the friendless and to any who may be in distress.
To find out more about these ministries, visit our Caring for Each Other page: Alcoholics Anonymous, Cancer with Grace, Deacon’s Home Visitation Ministry, Exploring Grief Group, Military Outreach, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Prayer Chain.
Members of the congregation staff the hospitality desk, offering the congregation and visitors a warm and gracious welcome and assisting with general office responsibilities as needed Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contact Alisa Steady at email@example.com to learn more.
Military Caring Ministry
First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest believes that our Christian faith compels us to demonstrate God’s compassion, love and healing to all—which includes the military community. First Pres is a military-supporting congregation. If you or a family member are a member of the military (active or reserve) or a veteran who worships here (occasionally or regularly), we’d like to get to know you! Please contact Jan McNicholas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Military Caring Ministry hosts several events throughout the year, including Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day remembrance programs. We also partner with the First Pres Rummage ministry and Military Outreach USA (a national veterans support organization) to donate a broad range of items to previously homeless veterans to furnish their new housing. Our Military Caring Ministry members also assist with other ministries at First Pres.

The First Pres family worships, learns and serves together, and cares and prays for each other.
We seek to be inspired, well-equipped followers of Jesus. If you are looking for a church home and would like to know more about our community of faith, a warm welcome awaits you. Contact Rev. Chip Hardwick at email@example.com to learn more. We’d love to see you soon.
