Our school supply drive this month will be directed to Greenwood Elementary School in Waukegan. As you are shopping for your children’s supplies for the coming school year, you are invited to remember the children in Waukegan whose families are unable to fully outfit them for school. An introduction to the Greenwood school and a list of basic needs is below. If you are able to support this ministry, please print the shopping list below and return the supplies by Sunday, Aug. 20. Greenwood Elementary School is a public school in Waukegan that first opened its doors in 1925 as a two-room school. Through the years, it has been expanded to accommodate approximately 350 students. They are proud of their diversity and while they celebrate their cultural differences, they still manage to create a sense of community that gives them strength and purpose, as they prepare the children of today for the world of tomorrow.
