We welcome children of all ages to worship every Sunday at 9 or 11 a.m. (10 a.m. during the summer, at the playground). The beginning portion of the service is planned especially to encourage families to worship together, and allows children to hear the day’s Bible story alongside their parents. Children may stay for the entire service or go to Sunday School or Confirmation Class after the Word for Children (at the 9 a.m. service only).
Sunday School for ages 3 through 7th grade allows children to explore the day’s Bible story in thoughtful and age-appropriate ways. Preschoolers use a “Godly Play” approach, which engages them in the story through peaceful storytelling, before inviting them to respond creatively.
Grade Schoolers often watch the story through a poignant and funny “Holy Moly” video before responding with conversation, activities, and often art. A weekly collection allows children to support on-going service projects, and joys and concerns allow us to build community by praying together and for one another.
Grades 5-7 begin to tackle more difficult subjects as they discuss the issues in their lives and learn how following God can help them make good choices.
Confirmation Class is a time for 8th graders to explore their faith, learn about the Christian and Presbyterian traditions, and grow in community with one another.
