What to Expect

There’s a place for you to worship here: authentic, heartfelt and relevant to your life. Find the service time and style that’s right for you.

  • As you sit under the beauty of Tiffany windows, let the creative music lift your spirit. The sounds of the glorious Casavant organ, guitars or djembe drum are augmented by a variety of music styles, drawing every age together in praise. Preaching connects Scripture with our daily lives and the concerns of the world. The joys and concerns of worshipers are lifted up in prayer together.

  • Our Sunday morning services at 9 and 11 a.m. are more traditional. The 9 a.m. service is perfect for families with school-age children as we have a special “Word for Children” and Sunday School at that hour. Free childcare is available from 8:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., although babies and children are always welcome in worship. Come “as you are” or dress up, as many people do in the morning.

During the Summer, between Memorial Day and Labor Day, First Pres has a more relaxed setting. We combine our more traditional morning services and more contemporary first@five to one  “come as you are” 10 a.m. service that incorporates elements of both. We also offer Playground Church that runs concurrent to the 10 a.m. service. Children, families and the young at heart are all invited to join us at the Playground.

After worship, we welcome everyone to stay for fellowship coffee hour at 11 a.m. hosted by one of our members in the Parlor and, weather permitting, in the Courtyard.

Childcare is also available from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

  • Sundays at 5 p.m.: Our first@five service in the evening is a more contemporary worship and people come more casually dressed. Piano and drums, candle-lighting and communion invite worshipers to take a deep breath before a busy week begins. Casual, energetic, warm and inviting, this service is right for every age.

  • Fellowship

After worship, everyone is invited to stay and break bread together. We have Fellowship coffee hour at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. after each morning service, and an informal supper at 5:45 p.m. following first@five.
