Done in 60 Minutes: Christian Theology

Updated Tuesday, March 12: See the video of the presentation below!

Sunday, March 3, 10:10 AM & 12:10 PM, Chapel
A primer on Christian theology in 60 minutes? It can be done! The next Done in 60 Minutes (Christian Theology) will be offered by Pastor Chip Hardwick on Sunday, March 3, from 10:10 to 11:10 AM and from 12:10 to 1:10 PM (two identical presentations) in the chapel. The latter includes a light lunch.

For those who want to dig deeper than 60 minutes allows, Pastor Chip and Doug Valassis will lead a Lenten study group on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:15 PM between March 13 and April 10. Participants will read various chapters from the excellent book Christian Doctrine by Shirley Guthrie according to the following schedule:

March 13 The Doctrine of the Incarnation: Is Jesus really human and divine at the same time?
March 20 The Doctrine of Sin: How and why do we move away from God?
March 27 The Doctrine of the Atonement: How does God take care of our sin?
April 3 The Doctrine of Predestination: Does God decide everything about our salvation ahead of time?
April 10 The Problem of Evil: Why do bad things happen to good people?

You can purchase a copy of the book for $10 beginning March 3 on Sunday mornings or from Donna Birney in the church office during the week.

There is no need to register for the Sunday presentation or the book club meetings. Contact Pastor Chip at chardwick@firstchurchlf.org or
